Jason C. Tunquist concentrates his practice primarily on estate planning and trust and estate administration. In that regard, Mr. Tunquist advises families, individuals, business owners and professionals on state and federal laws regarding wealth transfer to the next generation. This includes estate and gift tax issues, asset protection strategies and succession planning for closely-held and family-owned businesses. His practice also includes the representation of financial institutions in commercial loan documentation matters, as well as individuals and businesses in real estate transactions, business transactions, corporate governance and organization strategies, and various contract review and preparation matters.
Mr. Tunquist earned his law degree at DePaul University College of Law, where he served as an editor of the DePaul Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Currently, he is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and DuPage County Bar Association, and has given seminars on topics ranging from estate planning and creditor protection strategies to WBE/MBE certifications.
When away from the office, Mr. Tunquist volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts of America, as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Harper College Paralegal Studies Program and in his church. As a native Californian, he enjoys golf, cycling and spending time with his wife and six children.
